quilting again, still enjoying it

One of my homeschool friends reads my blog and I for her benefit I thought I would put some more homeschool orientated posts; hence the bookcases! Enjoy browsing T.Rox! The past few days has seen me tidying up the bookcases, couldn't stand the mess anymore. I turned some the books around so I could fit more in. In case you are wondering, this isn't all our books either. we have three smaller bookcases next to beds and about 5 more boxes of books waiting for a bookcase. PLUS my craft/sewing books and patterns, which would fill maybe two? boxes.

This morning I quilted most of the Ten Cents quilt that is in Strawberry Lemonade fabrics. Last night I FINALLY finished the applique on 'Happy Days' done in Fresh Cut fabrics. As soon I finish quilting the last bit of 'Ten Cents' I can baste and quilt 'Happy Days'. *big Grin* I feel like I am starting to get somewhere after having so many weeks with achieving little.

I also have to decide on and make a christmas ornament for Sarah's Christmas in July Ornament swap.... I think I have chosen something to make then I change my mind! Oh the dilmena! I had better decide soon so I can get started!

We had friends stay Friday night on their way through to a wedding. My dh and Scott were bedtmen for each other and it was great to see them. While they were here we got to look at the floor plans for their new house, designed by Scotts wife. A wonderful design! They left us with a lovely bottle of Brown Brothers wine, can't wait to have some. I don't drink very much but enjoy the odd drink and with breastfeeding it has been a while since I have had even one glass.
It has turned really cold here, lots of icy winds today. The children have been bundled up in parkas out riding their bikes, and of all things sweeping the dirt road!
It is pretty dry here, we haven't had much rain for the past three months. One result of this is that there doesn't seem to be many bugs and things about for the chooks to peck at, so when you leave the (security of) the houseyard you have 15-20 chooks following you, thinking that you are going to feed them! makes you feel very favoured indeed! dd 5yrs was so thrilled today that she was able to catch a chook and nurse it for a short time.
Best go start dinner,
Bec xxx

Love what you did with the Strawberry Lemonade fabric, I am playing with the charm squares I bought trying to deside what to do.
