Smell the Roses by Anni Downs/Hatched and Patched in the Gardeners Journal book.
I really enjoyed doing the stitchery; and added in a small red butterfly just above the roses.
I hope Jan likes it. I loved making it; except for pressing the handles, it seemed like no matter what I did I couldn't get the handle lining fabric out of sight - very dissapointing, sorry Jan.
Top and bottom of the stitchery is some gorgeous cotton lace that I was saving for a special project. Love the effect it has on the rich red background.

I love my new bag, Bec - the colour, the stitchery (I am such a fan of Anni Downs' designs) - the lace, everything. And the handles are just fine. Thank you so much! And big thanks also to whichever of your children made that gorgeous card. Lucky me.

Hi Bec
Ros at Bloomandblossom.blospot has a great tutorial on faux piped handles for bags, very easy and they look very neat every time, no lining fabric shows at the front. I think your bag looks great red is the best colour
Take care
Narelle
