Harvest Sampler

I had been eyeing off this BOM by MagicPatchQuilting ever since about June/July. Gorgeous fabrics and a sampler quilt to get my horizons broadening. I kept shelving it, nah didn't need to spend that money and I DIDN'T need another quilt to make!
Early December I caved and rang MagicPatchQuilting to sign up for it. I could have bought it as a kit, but as they didn't have a full kit cut yet it was just as well. A kit probably would have collected dust for a time! This BOM started in Sept last year so I asked them to catch me up, and was sent three packages to make four blocks. I have made the four blocks and now only have the current month to make up (more about that later).
This block below is my favourite, an applique block.

A pieced and appliqued block.

A pieced block - love the colour effects in this one.

Another pieced block. I must not have taken enough care as the block doesn't sit 100% right.... well, I guess it could be worse - sitting in the cupboard waiting to be stitched!

Here is the current block.
I am hesitant about this one because most of it is curved piecing....

Here are some towels I trimmed for a house warming present. My sister and her fiance have recently had a four bedroom Tasman, Austam home delivered to them on the farm. For the last fourish years they have been living in the shearers quarters - one building/room for lounge/bedroom, another building for the kitchen and a tin shed (unlined) for the laundry/bathroom. They are pretty pleased to have an inside toilet; and their home looks lovely.

PS I have an aloe vera plant for them too.

Wow! That BOM quilt is beautiful. I love the colours and the pattern. Maybe I should look into it, but I don't need another project :)
