Dust Everywhere

These are the lovely hills that I see all day every day; except for today!
These pictures were taken about mid morning, and the dust is still about.
Looking out past the oats paddock.....

You only have to step outside and you can feel the fine dust on your skin, and taste it in your mouth.....
One positive - NO WASHING!

Some more fat quarters in the mail today, very cool looking black and whites, with some very yummy smelling soap!

My girls have new headbands, of their own creating.
They cut up some old clothes for rags yesterday (worn out and badly stained) and decided that the elastic waistbands would make great headbands! Very frugal!

I lived in the Southern California desert for 20+ years and I understand about the blowing sand. Always accompanied by high winds. Very creative little ones. Future quilters perhaps?

It looks like the dust was equally bad at your place. The sewing room sounds like it was the best place to be. Like you, I let the washing pile up today. Hopefully the worst of the dust is all gone now.

Hard to tell if the sun is out or not - is it reddish because of the dust. Sadly I have to wash today - I was working on finishing a quilt yesterday and didn't do a bit. Cute headbands - very clever. Love that swirly black and white fat quarter.

Hey Bec! Oh!! These dust storms are driving me NUTS! Wednesday's storm was thicker here in Toowoomba - weird like the aliens were invading! - but it only lasted the one day. Then more dust started rolling in on Friday and it is only just starting to clear tonight - GRRRR!! No washing able to be done this weekend, so it will become another Monday chore to fit in. Am really NOT looking forward to the clean up next weekend!! Hope you've emerged from the dust cloud now! Bear Hugs! KRIS
