Off to Quilt Class I go......

Tomorrow I will be spending two days with Deborah Louie learning to machine quilt using my domestic machine, *grin* boy am I excited! FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY I will get to learn properly!

Soooo many things to take, gosh this isn't like packing for Girs Day Out at Nundle earlier in the year. I have HEAPS more stuff to take..... Gosh, and my clothing bag isn't here yet either!

I am sure my trip in the morning will involve some of this fog that I saw Friday morning on my way to Honeysuckle Cottage's BIG sale. (soon to be online for those of you that were unable to attend)

And no doubt I will see some good views, as the road I travel involves alot of hills and windy dirt roads.... ALL of my trip is dirt road, except the tar roads in the town of Bundara itself!

For the course I am taking my recently aquired open toe foot, had a quick try out this afternoon and I LOVE it!

This is someone I will be leaving behind while I am away, our Jack Russell.

The picture only shows one of the two geese we have (thanks Nat!). If the geese see me on the telephone they like to make alot of noise - they watch me and when my mouth opens they sqwark!

I was trying to get this bag finished in time to take with me but when I pin the bag base to the bottom of the bag I keep having too much bag.
Feeling frustrated with myself so I have put this aside to look at another day.

I have packed this HALF quilt top to ask Deborah about - should I attempt to quilt it myself or send my first quilt off to the quilters......
The final quilt will be 5 blocks by 6 blocks.
What you can see here is 3 blocks by 5 blocks - HUGE!
These are the Chapel Hill flannels I bought from Kerry at Cottage on the Hill just after the Girls Day Out in the Country.

This quilt top is also coming with me, to find some borders, backing and binding.
This is flannel, Sole by Valori Wells.

Another baby quilt top finished.
This is a Rosalie Quinlan deisgn - Baby Zak's Quilt, and I have fussily used American Jane's 'Look and Learn' fabric line.

So now you can REALLY see that inspite of not having much finished for May that I have indeed been very busy sewing up a storm! (both this post and the previous post 'One Two or Three')
These last few pictures aren't the best, my camera is really really low on batteries so I will give you some better pictures next time.
DH has some days off work to look after the children while I am away. I am sure he will be kept very busy!

Have a great time - you sound really excited. You should try a quilt-as-you-go method for your huge quilt, it really does make home quilting something that big a possibility. I'm looking forward to hearing any tips you pick up!
