Adding to the Stash

A gorgeous tablerunner for my Christmas stash. I used charm squares from 'Folklorique', the same range I made 'Frances' from.
The peg bag I was working on.
No, the stitchery isn't on it. It's still not finished. I have not been doing any stitcheries lately, they are presently collecting dust! In the cooler months we are inside early and I stitch with the tv on. Now we are coming into summer and the sun isn't going down until about 8pmish and I am spending more time with the garden and other chores. Not to mention the bug factor. With summer comes the little bugs that love your lights after dark, they make it terribly difficult to sew or read if your work room is near or has an external door..... our house was full of them last night.
I used 'Barefoot Roses' to make the peg bag from. Love it. Very pretty.
Another for the Christmas stash.
The stash is growing rather large, however next year I am not aspiring to make all our christmas gifts.....
I mentioned in a previous post that I had been reading Emilie Richards Shenandoah Valley series. There are five books in the series and I am up to the last one. These are great. Her writing is very skillful. I am keen to read more of her books, though I suspect that none of the others are quilt related....
What books do you love to read?????

This is to give you a little taste of what happens here REGULARLY! I have two little boys. Boys LOVE dirt. Boys LOVE water. Boys LOVE mud. Boys LOVE mess!

I think you get the picture here of how hard my washing machine works!

OOHHH the mud!! Geesh - boys. But the way I look at it is that it could be worse - they could be sitting in front of an xbox or something. Much rather them be outside. Let us know if you find a child under all that! How's the fabric diet coming?

What a simple but lovely table topper!! Love it Bec! Nice peg bag too! 8-)

Ahhhhhh.... never a dull moment with little boys.... Don't worry, most do grow out of this at some point...lol!

Ooh Bec, I have that runner pattern and I do intend to make it. But there is some Christmas swap sewing to do yet. I love the charms you used - I wonder which ones I will end up using.

I am about to order the fifth book in the series too. I don't think her other books are about quilting :( but they are probably a good read too.
Your Christmas stash will be looking healthy - maybe next year if I start in January I can get enopugh done.

Love what you've made. Is there a pattern for the peg bag? I soooo want to make them.....
Love your "clean" boy. LOL!
Just hose him down & go from there.

What a pretty table runner, clean and simple lines and lovely colours. I love the photograph of your son - I had one of those too (the other one never really got that muddy) and used to hose him down regularly.

Your boys must have been having a great time to get that messy.

I just love the fabric in the peg bag and the table runner looks terrific. I'm glad you've made a bit of time for reading. We are starting to get mothy here, so have to keep doors shut as much as possible.

Ooooh, Pretty runner Bec!!!
I've read the Emilie Richards quilty books, they're great reading!!! I even found the "Quilt-along" books (with the quilt patterns in) on ebay recently too!!
That piccy of your little boy takes me back about 20years to when my "little" boy did the same thing lol. Thanks for the trip down memory lane ;o).
Hugs,
Joy :o)

Sure got a chuckle out of this post. :-) Your boy is making the best memories while playing in the mud. I still remember doing the same myself! Love the peg bag, it's sweet and that table runner, too. I've read all of Emilie's books in this series and have enjoyed them as well as others she has written.
